A NEW range of educational opportunities will soon be on offer for students at Narrabeen Sports High School.
State Education Minister John Watkins was at the school yesterday to launch a new initiative giving the students access to facilities and services at the University of NSW, including, coaches, sports psychologist, an academic scholarship and library lending rights.
Mr Watkins said the initiative would benefit targeted sports students and senior students in particular.
"I congratulate the University of NSW on its generosity and commitment. The teachers who pursued this historic deal also deserve the highest praise," he said.
Under the scheme, targeted students will be exempt from UNSW sports association fees, have the chance to represent the uni in a range of sports and be able to access a range of training facilities without paying hiring fees.
