Working in St Vincent in the West Indies
In term 2, Miss McHarg took leave from NSHS to work as a volunteer in sport development in St Vincent and the Grenadines in the West Indies. The position specified working in the area of track and field with the main objective to make athletics the number one individual sport in St Vincent and the Grenadines. The program was funded by the Victorian Government and the Australian Sports Commission as an off shoot of the Commonwealth Games which was held in Melbourne earlier this year.
Below is an article on Miss McHarg and her experiences while she was in St Vincent. It was originally printed in a newsletter published by the Australian Sports Commission.
